About Our Company
For over 15 years, Configuration Solutions (CS) has been a leader in the development of knowledge-based
process and product configuration and rule and constraint based assessment and selection software.
We help you simplify complex product and service specification, pricing and product generation through
advanced configuration technology.
Re-established in 1996 as Configuration Systems & Consulting, the organization was the result of a merger
between Frontline Systems & Consulting and Logia Business Systems-the developer of the original engineering
and Bill of Material Configurator, Sales Order Configurator and Manufacturing Configurator.
Pioneers in "Bottoms Up Rules-Based System" (BURBS)
We also pioneered the ground-breaking "Bottoms Up Rules-Based System" (BURBS) approach to configuration
technology, which continues to be a cornerstone of our CS-Enterprise Software Solution. Frontline Systems
was an independent manufacturing consulting practice dedicated to helping MTO and ETO manufacturers find and
implement technology solutions to resolve complex pricing, quoting, sales and manufacturing problems.
Since 1996, Configuration Solutions has continued to build upon its underlying technology foundation and approach

Technology Timelines
In 1999, CS introduced a JAVA-based Web version of our software solution, featuring a browser-driven user interface,
a powerful rule and constraint based integration engine and Product Visualization Engine that enables users to view
real-time incremental assembly of custom-configured products over the Internet.
In 2002, the company launched its CS-Enterprise Solution which incorporates a suite of rule and constraint based
assessment, selection and configuration products that address the complete needs of CTO manufacturers, automotive
suppliers and business services organizations in the mortgage, financial and healthcare industries.
In 2005, the company acquired Helix Technology Group, LLC, a Rochester, Michigan firm dedicated to the development
of engineering change and program/project management software for automotive parts suppliers, repetitive manufacturers
and machine tool manufacturers.
